YOUTH MEDIA ARTS WORKSHOPSMASJ has over 13 years experience of offering ongoing student led media arts workshops for community youth in a variety of settings Southern California. Most of the sites lack access to production equipment and know how, so MASJ provides cameras, editing equipment and the technical skills of our Media studies students, who in turn learn about mentoring, collaboration, and social issues affecting urban and rural youth. Most workshops start with creative writing as basis for exploring video production and end with shared project screenings and fast friendships for all involved.
